Summer is here and we will be spending more time outdoors. Let us recommend some excellent products to help transform your backyard. Whether you are lounging poolside or having a backyard bbq.
We recommend good, quality products for outside. The lower price point can also come with a lower quality and generally are not as comfortable, don't last as long and are typically lighter and can blow away. When you buy good quality pieces, you are getting what you pay for. We prefer to use furniture that will hold up and stand the test of time instead of needing to replace regularly.
That being said there is still care involved to keep your purchase looking nice. This is climate dependant as well so beware of your own climate and changing seasons and how they will effect the longevity of your furnishings.
We recommend investing in covers (provided by the vendor) and taking cushions inside in the colder seasons or when not in use. Our outdoor living room set pictured below has a eucalyptus frame. This set is, a smart , stylish solution for the outdoors and is suitable for a covered application. It is a durable time tested material that will develop a natural patina over time. When exposed to the outdoors it develops a silver grey hue. Which shows the organic nature of the material. No harsh chemicals needed for cleaning, just address with warm soapy water and dry with soft clean cloth.
If you're hoping for a set that is not covered, and more exposed to the elements, consider a good quality aluminum frame set, and be sure to take your cushions indoors when not in use.
Our dining chairs pictured have a classic modern design. They are a personal favourite of LJ Design Co. and they are available in two colours. At first look, these chairs have the appearance of woven wicker but the material is actually polyethylene. This allows them to be more weather resistant and will not mold or wear out.
To complete your look and add a comfortable feel to the space, ground the setting with an outdoor rug and add pillows and outdoor accessories to tie it all together. These final touches bring texture and warmth, and look like they belong in an indoor living room with the durability for the outdoors!
