What’s not to like about this year’s Bluewater Health Foundation Dream Home? Lauren and the LJ team are here to share their favourite things about the 2022/2023 Dream Home.
Everyone looks for something different when it comes to a "dreamy" home and that's no different with us girls! Here is a glimpse into what we love most about this year's home!
BREANNE
The Mudroom Bench
It’s always great to have a spot to hang your coat and tuck your shoes away. There are also convenient storage cubbies for extra hats and mitts!
Upstairs Laundry
Having your laundry upstairs near the bedrooms will save so much time and effort hauling clothes around. Here your laundry is just outside your bedroom door and has folding space - galore! "This is a space I'd actually want to stay and spend time in!"
COLLEEN
The Basement Bar
The basement in this Dream Home is so cozy and the perfect hangout space. I love the vibe that the different types of lighting gives off and having the bar in the basement living space makes it so convenient to grab a drink or store snacks without having go upstairs to the kitchen.
Attention to Details
Lauren put thought into details, such as special wall treatments, and the matching warm wood on the ceiling with the beams. "It’s the details that make this home stand out and give it its character!" Having a builder who aligns with your ideas and is interested in producing a top notch product is key. SGC Modern Homes builds special homes and was great to work with them to bring these important details to reality.
LAUREN
The Kitchen
This kitchen has optimal open and closed storage. We used built-in tall cabinets, designed to hold all your canned and boxed food items with lots of drawers to store utensils, pots, and pans. There is a generous sized sink in a 9’ island that seats 4 people comfortably. This kitchen opens onto the living room, making this the perfect place to host.
Basement Bathroom Wallpaper
The wallpaper felt like an exciting design choice, in a room that felt as though it needed some pizzazz! A powder room is a space that you can ignore rules and not be afraid to be bold in your design! "I think it really helps give a statement and truly pulls the whole bathroom together. In the end I am so pleased with the look we achieved!"
The Primary Bedroom
The Primary Bedroom in this home truly is its own little oasis. Bayview Design Group and did a great job of creating a space that we could add our touch to! There is a full walk-in closet as you enter, an ensuite with a double sink vanity and spacious walk-in shower.
There is also a private balcony to enjoy a quite morning coffee. All of this paired with our laid back textured styling - "This is a place I'd never want to leave!"
