Today we break down the layers on how to make your bed like a designer.
Follow these simple steps and make your bed an eye-catching and luxurious focal point of your room!
IT ALL STARTS WITH THE SHEETS
Sheets are the blank canvas and starting point to build on for the rest of your bedding. In the Bluewater Health Foundation Dream Home primary bedroom, we chose a white fitted, flat sheet and pillow covers. The white gave us the crisp base we were after to allow the next layers on top to contrast and feel luxurious.
TRY ADDING A QUILT OR BED COVER (or a few!)
Layering quilted blankets and bed covers creates interest and depth in your presentation.
Wrap it tightly and tuck in some of the layers at the sides to avoid it looking messy. Not only are they beautiful, but they also provide versatility for changes in season and temperature.
TOP IT OFF
Fold down your fluffy duvet to add to the already inviting atmosphere you have created.
In this project, we chose to add a crisp simple white duvet cover. Not only does it look great, but it's durable and washes up beautifully.
THROW A PILLOW ON IT
When it comes to decorative pillows, as far as we're concerned, there are never enough of them on the planet!
There are many ways to lay them out. As a general rule, variation in height is key. You will want taller in the back and shorter in the front.
It's a great idea to have the pillows tie the colours for the bedding together and the room at large. Throw pillows really have the power to transform the feel of the space and add cozy, textural, luxury.
